HOW TO BE A WISEGUY Discipline – Part 2
Discipline means CORRECTION The Absence of Discipline (according to Proverbs)
If you lack discipline/correction . . .
· You are headed for DESTRUCTION The person who accepts correction is on the way to life. But the person who ignores correction will be ruined (Proverbs 10:17).
· You are STUPID Anyone who loves learning accepts being corrected. But a person who hates being corrected is stupid (Proverbs 12:1).
· You are DISHONORED A person who refuses correction will end up poor and disgraced. But a person who accepts correction will be honored (Proverbs 13:18).
· You are without UNDERSTANDING A person who refuses correction hates himself. But a person who accepts correction gains understanding (Proverbs 15:2).
The Addition of Discipline (according to Proverbs)
If you accept discipline/correction...
· You are GROWING My child, do not reject the Lord's discipline. And don't become angry when he corrects you (Proverbs 3:11).
· You are LOVED The Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects the child that he likes (Proverbs 3:12).
· You are WISE Learn the truth and never reject it. Get wisdom, self-control and understanding (Proverbs 23:23).
The Action of Accepting Discipline/Correction
1. Get into FELLOWSHIP (others). Lord, those you correct are happy. You give them your teachings *Psalm 94:12).
2. Get into GOD’S WORD (God).
2. Get into self OBSERVATION (you).
