Part 4 - Wise Behavior

The Absence of Wise Behavior

          Lack common SENSE

          Lack true JOY

Keep my commands in mind.  Then you will live a long time.  And your life will be successful (Proverbs 3:1-2).

          Lack RESPECT by others

Then you would be respected and pleasing to both God and men (Proverbs 3:4).

The Addition of Wise Behavior

          Common SENSE

A wise person is praised.  But a stupid person is not respected (Proverbs 12:8).

          Complete RESPECT

          Success is conforming to GOD’S standards

The Steps toward Wise Behavior

1. Remain with GOD.

"Remain in me, and I will remain in you.  No branch can produce fruit alone.  It must remain in the vine.  It is the same with you.  You cannot produce fruit alone.  You must remain in me"(John 15:4).

2. Allow yourself to be CONFRONTED.

“He [God the Father] cuts off every branch of mine that does not produce fruit.  And he trims and cleans every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce even more fruit"  (John 15:2).

3. Produce good FRUIT.

"...if a person remains in me and I remain in him, then he produces much fruit.  But without me he can do nothing” (John 15:5).
