E5 – WHAT is it?#5: Exalt/Worship
1. The Purposes – Matthew 22:37-40; Matthew 28:19-20 a. Worship: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart” __ _Exalt_________ b. Ministry: “Love your neighbor as yourself” __Edify_____________ c. Evangelism: “Go and Make disciples”___Evangelize_____________ d. Fellowship: “Baptizing them” _____Encourage____________ e. Discipleship: “Teaching them to obey” ___Equip_____________
2. We define worship as expressing our love to God.
a. Matthew 22:37 - Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind
3. Real worship is giving yourself to God
a. Romans 12:1-2 – Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.
4. Do you choose to follow the crowd or follow the cross?
a. Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
