HOW TO KEEP FROM SINKING
Matthew 14:22-33
So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he looked around at the high waves, he was terrified and began to sin. "Save me, Lord!" he shouted . . . (Matthew 14:29-30).
There's one way to keep from sinking. It's to keep your EYES on Jesus.
How We Can Use Our Eyes
1. VIEW your faith as a series of baby STEP.
And I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in his grace until his task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns (Philippians 1:6).
2. CLEAR away the DISTRACTIONS.
For I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power (Philippians 4:13).
3. FOCUS on PRAYER.
Then Jesus told them, “Truly, if you have faith and don't doubt, you can do things like this and much more . . . You can get anything—anything you ask for in prayer—if you believe" (Matthew 21:21-22).

4. LOOK to the WORD.
How can a young person stay pure? By reading your Word [Bible] and following its rules. I have tried my best to find you—don't let me wander off from your instructions. I have thought much about your words and stored them in my heart so that they would hold me back from sin (Psalm 119:9-11).
